OTM Link

The OTM Link port is a 3.5mm TRRS jack present on the Otamatone Techno and Otamatone Neo. It is a fully analog connection, and serves as an effects loop by intercepting the Otamatone’s signal between the Oscillator and Internal Amp.

It was designed to connect to the “Otamatone Studio” smart phone app, and does so by mimicking a pair of headphones with a built in mic. From the Smart Phone’s perspective, the Otamatone’s Oscillator is the microphone, and the Otamatone’s Internal Amplifier (and speaker by extension) is the headphones.

Since it is a fully analog port, it is very easy to “hack”. Below is a diagram I’ve made for how to use the OTM Port to connect the Otamatone Techno or Otamatone Neo to guitar effects pedals.
